8. Q: Can I check to see what Con-Ed credits I have received? A: Yes, the State of Michigan has a website that allows you to view Con-Ed credits that you have earned recently. Follow this link. Please allow at least 3 weeks for your CE credits to appear on the state's website after taking a class.
9. Q: How can I check the status of my license? A: You can check your license status online at the State's website at http://www.cis.state.mi.us/verify.htm Active licenses will have a 10/31/2009 license expiration date. An expiration date with a year of 2006 or earlier indicates a lapsed license. A lapsed license likely means that you failed to pay the license renewal fee to the State of Michigan and/or failed to complete a 6 hour Con-Ed class in 2006 or a previous year.
10. Q: My salesperson license is lapsed because I did fail to complete one of the requirements noted in the answer above. What do I need to do in order to reactivate my license? A: To view the State's educational requirements for re-licensure, follow this link . Because the re-licensure process can be complicated and confusing, it is strongly recommended that you consult someone from the State of Michigan real estate licensing office in order to determine the current status of your license and the exact requirements you will need to fulfill in order to re-license. You can visit the State's real estate licensing website or contact them at 517-241-9288 (general), 517-241-9233 (brokers), or 517-241-1781 (salespersons). Please have your permanent ID# from your license/pocket card (lower left corner) ready when calling and note that they receive heavy call volumes, so you may need to try multiple times or leave a message.
11. Q: What is the re-licensure procedure for brokers? A: In order to re-license, brokers follow a similar process to salespersons which includes both an educational and a paperwork/fee requirement. Broker re-license fees are higher, See Real Estate Fee Chart. Because the required paperwork will vary depending on the type of brokers license you have (associate or individual), it is recommended that you contact the State of Michigan's licensing office for brokers (517-241-9233) in order to receive assistance in the re-licensure process.
12. Q: Is it possible to take the continuing education class online? A: Yes, you can now complete your continuing education class online via the internet.
